A compact spinning wheel made of Douglas fir and pine with composite wheel and pedal. Wood parts are finished with four coats of clear varathane and the composite parts with four coats of 'Bombay Mahogany' varathane. The wheel turns on a steel axle with nylon bushings. Stretchable drive belt for easy ratio changes.
It is a 'bobbin driven' system . The bobbin has drive pulleys for 3 different ratios - 4-1, 7-1 and 11-1 (approx.) . One bobbin is included and extras can be purchased with the order for $12.50 each.
It has a full width foot pedal for treadling with either foot.
